THE SPANISH FOOTBALL TEAM.


the national soccer team of Spain is the team of Spanish nationality players representing the Royal Spanish Football Federation in competitions organized by the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA).
The team is known colloquially as "The Spanish Fury", recalling the Sack of Antwerp, episode of military history española.1 is also known by the pseudonym "La Furia Roja," coined by an Italian journalist who referred to him as " Furia Rossa ', 2, or simply as' The Red' 3
The Spanish team has participated in twelve editions of the World Cup and was the host of the 1982 edition. The best result obtained by the Spanish team in this tournament was the fourth place achieved in the World Cup 1950 held in Brazil.
He has also participated in eight editions of the Euro, which first highlighted in the 1964 edition, which was proclaimed as a local champion in the final by defeating the Soviet Union 2-1. In Euro 1984, held in France, reached the second place, losing the final 2-0 to the host country. In Euro 2008, Spain claimed victory in the final to Germany 1-0 and European champion for the second vez.4 This victory in 2008 earned him the lead for the first time FIFA world ranking, being the sixth team that could lead the ranking, and the first who had not won any World Cup hacerlo.5
His biggest success in the Olympics was in 1992 in Barcelona, when he won the gold medal by defeating Poland 3-2 in the final at Camp Nou Stadium in Barcelona. In the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, won the silver medal for reaching the final, losing to Camerún.6 also won a silver medal at the 1920 Olympics in Antwerp.
